I’m a dressmaker and embroiderer and artist and gardener and aspiring poet and trying to fit all of this around bringing up my two glorious children in SE London.

I taught myself to make clothes (I’m not formally trained in anything useful although I do have a degree in English Lang and Lit and another in Law). I had my first sewing machine aged 11 and raided airing cupboards and linen trunks and bottom drawers for sheets and curtains and anything else that could reasonably be turned into something to wear.

I make my own patterns and don’t tolerate puckered seams.

  2. Hello Claire!

Thank you so much for visiting and leaving a comment on my blog! It’s great to meet you. 🙂

I’ve always been so envious of people that can create their own clothes – I can sew on a button, but that’s pretty much it! I think it’s a fantastic skill to have!
